Porcelain Veneers over Crowns

Do you know if there is any “veneer” or anything else that can be applied to front teeth crowns to make them whiter? Seems that someone should have created a process to fuse a veneer to porcelain by now.

Stan,

Yes, we can put porcelain veneers over crowns and make them whiter. There is bonding technology to bond porcelain to porcelain, and also to bond porcelain to metal, so we could take the porcelain off a porcelain fused to metal crown and make it whiter and newer. The reason we don’t do it is because it’s about the same amount of work as doing a new crown, so we would have to charge the same. Since a new all-porcelain crown looks so much better, it makes it impractical.
