Naperville Dental Bridge

A dental bridge replaces a missing tooth. A crown is placed on each tooth next to the space of the missing tooth, and then a false tooth is suspended between the crowns.

To the right is a diagram of a dental bridge. This has traditionally been the best way to replace a missing tooth.

Another option that is becoming more popular is with a dental implant. An implant involves the placing of an anchor in the bone and then placing a porcelain crown over it.

When a dental bridge involves a front tooth, there are several things that a trained cosmetic dentist can do to make the tooth look real. Many times a false tooth isn't perfectly matched to the other teeth, or it looks opaque, or has a dark line at the gumline.

Dr. Karen Blair, however, is passionate about the appearance of the work she does and, besides being skilled artistically, has extensive training in cosmetic dentistry. She is familiar with techniques such as ovate pontics, all-porcelain construction, ridge augmentation, and other techniques that can be employed to make your dental bridge look so natural that no one with know you have a false tooth.
